The joy felt when watching the circus can only be mirrored by either…..going again, or learning the skills yourself! Showtime Circus has been set up to allow children to learn different circus skills, such as those seen in The Greatest Showman! Skills such as juggling, hula hooping, acrobatics and aerial arts (hoop and silks) will be taught, and combined with dance to create elegant, flexible and rhythmic young performers. All skills will be taught with safety as our first concern, but with the added element of FUN!

GOAL

To spread the happiness and joy that exists when watching the circus by enabling children to learn from, and perform alongside, other industry professionals.

What's your circus name and why?

Jolly Jess - because I'm always Jolly :)

What classes do you teach at Showtime Circus?

ALL of them! I love teaching all things Circus!

What's your favourite thing about circus?

That there is something for everyone, every child/adult will "click" with a certain piece of apparatus/skill and find the joy in exploring what their body and mind can achieve. I love that everyone is welcome and that it is one big family.

Where did you train?

I trained as a dancer at Bird College gaining a degree in Musical Theatre. I learnt aerial at My Aerial Home and other circus skills from various amazing circus artists as I travelled the world performing with them!

What's the funniest memory (favourite thing if you've not taught yet) you have from Showtime Circus.

There have been TOO many funny moments. As the "boss" I sometimes have to be very serious so when I get chance to be silly, I LOVE it! I particularly enjoy playing tricks on the other teachers (mainly Crazy Wavy Davy!) My stand out favourite moments have to be the trip to the Water Park in Benidorm with squad on our first abroad school trip. It was amazing to be such a family and to enjoy down time with the children after their incredible performance, and also the FULL school show on my birthday, I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present!

What has been your most fun performing job?

I think that would have to be when I worked on a HUGE cruise ship. We got to see different places in the world every day and I had to go and ask the Captain if I was ok to do my aerial routine every show so I got to go up to the bridge and see some amazing views! I also made friends for life onboard.

Do you have any pets

Yes - Woody and Elphaba! They are very mischievous, and very vocal and they're my best furriends!

What's your favourite flavour Donut?

Rasberry Jam all the way!

What flavour ice cream is your favourite?

Anything vegan! I get SO excited if a restaurant has vegan desserts that I order them all! Ha ha!

Can you touch your nose with your tongue?

YES!! It's probably my proudest talent haha!
