Kat is an established UK based aerial artist specialising in Aerial Silks, Aerial Hoop and Aerial Cube.
Kat started her career as a professionally trained dancer, after 6 years of working professionally Kat fell in love with Aerial Arts whilst on a course at My Aerial Home, after this Kat decided it was time to change her life forever. Kat combine’s her dance knowledge with aerial gymnastics and believes that understanding your individual strength as a performer is so important.
Kat has now been in the entertainment industry for over 10 years and has established herself as a high quality act appearing on national television for The Alan Titchmarsh Show and The Paul O'Grady Show. Previous clients also include Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Olympus, Best Parties Ever, Cadburys, EE, and ITV.
What's your circus name and why?
Flying Kat - Because I spend the majority of my life upside down in the air.
What classes do you teach at Showtime Circus?
Aerial Hoop, Aerial Silks, Stretch, Aerial Conditioning.
What's your favourite thing about circus?
You can make wonderful friends, learn skills you never thought you could do and it gets you fit and healthy!
Where did you train?
I started my career as a dancer and trained for three years in Musical Theatre at Margaret Howard Theatre School. After 6 successful years of performing, I decided to move on with my career and started learning Aerial at My Aerial Home.
What's the funniest memory (favourite thing if you've not taught yet) you have from Showtime Circus?
Learning to fly with Jolly Mess, we did so much Aerial Hoop training that Jolly Mess got a really bruised bottom and couldn't sit down!
What has been your most fun performing job?
I think the most fun job I've done has been playing Zendaya at a Greatest Showman Themed Party where they made it into a big top and had lots of performers.
Do you have any pets
YES! My adorable 3-year-old Siberian Husky Sky. She is a beautiful cuddly bundle of love.
What's your favourite flavour Donut?
Oh I would have to say a Vegan Raspberry and White Chocolate doughnut would go down well with a coffee. MMM!
What flavour ice cream is your favourite?
Definitely Cocoa Sorbet, it's incredible.
Can you touch your nose with your tongue?
No I can't it's too hard!
